Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum announces new Herschell-Spillman Motor exhibit

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum has unveiled its new exhibit, “Phantom of the Brass Era: The Herschell-Spillman Motor Company.” During a grand opening for the exhibit on April 18, the museum also announced the acquisition of a 1923 Standard Sedanette automobile with an intact H-S V-8.

The exhibit features three engines built by the Herschell-Spillman Motor Co., alongside numerous historical photographs and other archival documents. The exhibit will be available to the public through December, and is included with general admission. The exhibit was designed and installed by Doug Bathke, John Dumbrosky, Marissa Seib and Ian Seppala.

A press release stated, “The 1923 Standard Sedanette was recently acquired to continue the concerted effort of telling the full impact of the Herschell Companies in Western New York. The automobile is beginning a lengthy restoration process and will be on display at the museum in the future.”
