Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) announced Dr. Merna George, M.D., will join Golisano Center for Community Health as a primary care physician this September.

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, George specializes in family medicine and community health. George is a graduate of St. George’s University, where she received a bachelor’s in premedical sciences and a doctor of medicine degree. She is completing her residency training at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program.

George also taught medical students and residents at the University Medical Center outpatient clinic and Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, focusing on clinical scenarios and pathologies across various specialties, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, inpatient medicine, and outpatient family medicine.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. George join our primary care team," said Joseph Ruffolo, president and CEO of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. “Her expertise in family medicine and passion for community health is a perfect fit for our mission to provide accessible, high-quality health care."

Patients can start scheduling appointments with George in early September. Those seeking to establish care are encouraged to contact the Golisano Center for Community Health at 716-278-4151. The all-ages center provides integrated health services to adults with special needs and their families, along with a range of services and programs for the community.
