“Glen Campbell Duets – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions,” which reimagines Campbell’s critically acclaimed, history-making 2011 farewell album with some of today’s brightest stars, is out now via Big Machine Records and Surfdog Records. The one-of-a-kind project blends the late Campbell’s original vocals with some of today’s most iconic musicians across all genres, including Brian Wilson, Carole King, Dolly Parton, Elton John, Hope Sandoval, Linda Perry, Sting and Brian Setzer.

“I just want to thank all of the incredible artists who lent their talents to this project and created such a beautiful tribute to Glen,” shared Campbell’s co-producer and co-writer Julian Raymond. “Creating ‘Ghost on the Canvas’ with Glen was such an impactful and moving experience – it means a great deal to me that so many people came together to honor him and his reconciliation with his diagnosis. I hope this project continues to inspire hope in those faced with Alzheimer’s.”

Campbell’s original “Ghost on the Canvas” is the only album written and recorded by someone who was actively battling Alzheimer’s disease. The result was a beautifully vulnerable body of work full of songs that explored complex ideas of hope, reflection, mortality, gratitude, and acceptance of fate. Rolling Stone included it on its list of “The 100 Greatest Country Albums of All Time,” and it’s considered a “museum-quality masterpiece” (USA TODAY) by many. “Glen Campbell Duets – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions” was created out of love and respect for Glen and his beautiful take on the conclusion of his life with the goal of providing hope to others also struggling with Alzheimer’s.

“Over the years, ‘Ghost on the Canvas’ continued to receive massive acclaim, and accolades continued to pour in for both Glen and this record from the creative community – whether from new artists or the greatest legends in music history,” shared Surfdog Records' Dave Kaplan.

On Thursday night, in celebration of the album, guests gathered at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville to view the all-new Glen Campbell exhibit and attend a panel featuring some of Campbell’s family members, collaborators and friends. The panelists included Raymond, Kaplan, Steve Wariner, Cal Campbell and Kim Campbell. Raymond and Kaplan gave insights about the making of the album, while Wariner and the Campbells provided the audience with heartfelt stories of Glen.

Campbell was one of the biggest stars of his generation – even outselling The Beatles in 1968. Across his illustrious 50-year-plus career, the Country
Music Hall of Fame member released 64 albums and earned countless awards and recognitions for his music (including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award). He was a huge influence on pop culture – he hosted a number of TV specials including his own “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour” television show (of which Eric Clapton was a guest) and earned Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his work on the iconic film “True Grit.” His contribution to music history can be heard across the soundtrack for Elvis’ “Viva Las Vegas,” The Beach Boys’ revelatory album “Pet Sounds,” and recordings with Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and many other legends.
