Counties in 8th Judicial District to shift to emergency operations for eclipse

Deputy Chief Administrative Judge James P. Murphy, upon consultation with First Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Norman St. George, have granted approval for all counties in the 8th Judicial District to shift to emergency operations at noon on Monday, April 8, for the solar eclipse.

Physical access to Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties court facilities will be curtailed in the 8th Judicial District. With the exception of criminal court arraignments and any emergency criminal matters, emergency matters will be handled virtually respectively.
