Mac Powell releases brand-new song, 'Like It's Nothing'

Award-winning artist and songwriter Mac Powell drops a brand-new single, "Like It's Nothing," available today. More than 160,000 concertgoers have heard this song firsthand during TobyMac’s “Hits Deep 2024” tour, which concludes tomorrow night in West Virginia. 

“I know it may sound crazy, but I still believe in miracles," Powell shared of the new song's inspiration. "All of these amazing things that we read about in the scriptures – from God parting the Red Seas, Elijah calling down fire from Heaven, to Jesus healing with just a touch – I truly believe these things, in some ways, still happen. And God does not grow tired or weak in doing these mighty things. I pray we all will continue to have the kind of faith that sees God working today!”

Powell's song follows the highly successful 2021 release, “New Creation,” which produced the radio hit songs "New Creation" and the Top 10 song, "River of Life." He's currently working on a new project that will be released later this year.

In addition to working on new music, Powell recently released his first book, “The Soul Shines Through – The Surprising Spiritual Influences on Modern Artists.” This full-color volume reveals often-unknown secrets about the lives of well-known artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol and Chagall. This book was inspired by many museum visits over the years. After wrapping up the “Hits Deep” tour this weekend, Powell will hit the road again later this spring on his headline acoustic tour, "An Acoustic Night of Hit Stories & Faith," where he will be performing his solo hits, worship songs, and selections from Third Day's expansive catalog. More About Mac Powell

Powell, originally from Alabama, moved to Atlanta as a sophomore in high school and would soon co-found the Christian rock band Third Day. Throughout a nearly three-decade career, the band sold over 10 million albums, earned four Grammy Awards, one American Music Award, and 24 Dove Awards, and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

Since Third Day’s farewell tour in 2018, Powell released a country album, “Back Again,” under the banner Mac Powell & The Family Reunion. In 2021, he released his debut solo CCM album, “New Creation,” on Capitol Christian Music Group. In 2023, he released a live album, “Live From Red Rocks,” and his Christmas EP, “Christmas.”
