Assemblyman Morinello kicked off his first day of Read Across America Week by reading to students at William Kaegebein Elementary School.

National Read Across America Day is a celebration of reading that takes place on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. It was established by the National Education Association in 1998 to help get kids excited about reading.

“It was such a great time to meet with the exceptional students at William Kaegebein Elementary School,” Morinello said. “It is so important we continue to encourage our students to read with one another and expand upon their education. It’s always a pleasure to meet with our future generation and pass down beloved stories from our own. I can’t wait to continue throughout the week – and remember to always READ, READ, READ!”

A press release stated, “On National Read Across America Day, students, teachers, parents and community members around the nation come together to read books and celebrate the joy of reading. In conjunction with Read Across America Week, Morinello encourages all those who can to participate in this year's upcoming summer reading program. This year's theme will be ‘Adventure Begins at Your Library.’ Be sure to follow along for more updates!”
