In celebration of Presidents’ Day, the Niagara History Center will present a program “Presidents on Money” for children ages 7 to 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19. Participants will find out which U.S. presidents are on our coins and dollars, why they were chosen for that honor, and how U.S. currency has changed over the years. Activities include examining the symbols on money and learning what they mean, hearing how money is kept secure, doing experiments using coins, playing a money-related game and other hands-on experiences.

The fee for the program is $15 per child, which includes all materials and a snack at noon. Preregistration is required by contacting the Niagara History Center at 716-434-7433 or emailing [email protected]. The program takes place at the Niagara History Center’s main facility at 215 Niagara St., Lockport. The Niagara History Center programs are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
