Press Release

Chart-topping artist and songwriter Micah Tyler releases a new version of "People Like Us," the title track of his latest project with Fair Trade Services. Featuring Emerson Day, the song is headed to radio and is available on all DSPs. Listen to the song here.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter shares, “Romans 5:8 says this: ‘God shows His love for us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.’ I have to remember this daily, regardless of where I’m at in this journey."

Tyler adds, "No matter where my heart is, God’s full and complete love is for people just like me and just like you because God absolutely loves 'PEOPLE LIKE US.’ "

Sharing the song live night after night while on tour with MercyMe last year, Tyler was also able to share "People Like Us" during his debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry this past summer, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

The release of "People Like Us" follows his back-to-back No. 1 hits, "I See Grace" and "Praise The Lord," both from his six-song EP that was released last spring. "I See Grace" held the top spot on the Billboard National Christian Audience chart for five weeks. His seventh No. 1, "Praise The Lord," topped the Billboard/Mediabase chart.

Tyler is also happy to help introduce Fair Trade Services' new artist, Emerson Day.

“When I was asked to be featured on this song, I was so excited and so humbled and honored to be a part of the message that it shares,” she says. “It does not matter where we are or what we are going through in our lives – God’s love for us never changes."

More About Emerson Day

For soulful singer-songwriter Emerson Day, storytelling came naturally from a young age. Writing songs as early as a teenager, she was influenced by the sounds of a Southern rock guitar and an old church piano. Growing up on her family’s farm in Southern Maryland, she would sit outside playing guitar and singing for hours. God put a song in her heart long before she ever realized it.

Driven by career and athletic aspirations, Day graduated from university as a decorated lacrosse player with a degree in homeland security. The same competitive nature that drew her to sports and a career in federal law enforcement, quickly engaged when she felt God calling her to pursue music. In a true leap of faith, Day began pursuing music, a complete 180 from her original plan.

Thursday through Saturday she began playing shows in local bars and venues in her hometown. But it wasn’t until she started leading worship at a small church in North Carolina that God showed her the path he truly had for her. One of the first Sundays she led worship, someone gave their life to Christ, right in front of her at the altar. This moment solidified Day’s calling and passion for Christian music. She never looked back.

She is working on music to be released later this year.
