Roswell Park announces fourth IceCycle event

March 8 & 9 at Buffalo RiverWorks; to benefit cancer research & patient care programs

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has launched registration for the fourth-annual IceCycle fundraising event, presented by West Herr Automotive Group. This event is bringing together 13 WNY fitness studios and more than 1,000 participants on March 8-9 to take a 45-minute cycling class on ice while raising funds for research and programs at Roswell Park.

Studios participating in the 2024 IceCycle event include Catalyst Fitness, Compass Cycle and Flow, Hype Fitness Studio, JadaBlitz Fitness, Rebel Ride, Revolution, Rise Fitness Studio, Spark Fitness, Spoke Cycle and Fitness Studio, Stages Cycling and Vault Cycle and Fitness.

New this year, fitness celebrity Kristina Girod of POWER+FLOW in Arizona will lead three classes over the weekend.

A press release noted, “Girod has grown in popularity through TikTok and Instagram, amassing more than 3 million combined followers. With a 14-year history of coaching, Kristina has turned her passion for indoor cycling into a global movement through her fitness studio and online brand, POWER+FLOW. She is inspiring not only her local community in Scottsdale, Arizona, but a worldwide community through the studio’s online platform.”

IceCycle founder Bill Loecher said, “IceCycle is a movement that has made a profound impact on the Roswell Park community since 2021. There’s nothing like seeing more than 1,000 people come together to challenge themselves to make a difference in the world. It’s the passion and dedication of the riders, instructors, partners and donors that make this a can’t-miss event for anyone committed to our mission to end cancer.”

This uniquely Buffalo event offers four ways to participate. One class with a local studio requires a $200 fundraising commitment; one class with Girod requires a $500 fundraising commitment; a livestream of the entire weekend’s classes for a minimum fundraising commitment of $100; or, challenge seekers can sign up for two classes for a fundraising minimum of $500.

Since its first event in 2021, the IceCycle community has raised more than $1.4 million for cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park.

The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation is a is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that manages all donations made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
