At 1:52 a.m. Saturday, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office patrol attempted to initiate a traffic stop for speed in the 4700 block of Tonawanda Creek Road. A white BMW sedan was observed traveling 91 MPH in the 45 MPH zone. Patrols could not safely catch up to the vehicle and the area was checked.

Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was again located at the intersection of Campbell Boulevard and Lockport Road when a second traffic stop was attempted. A vehicle pursuit ensued through the towns of Pendleton, Cambria and Lewiston. The pursuit was terminated multiple times due to excessive speed. However, law enforcement countywide worked together to locate the vehicle and, ultimately, a tire deflation device was successfully deployed by the Lewiston Police Department at Saunders Settlement Road and Miller Road.

A 20-year-old male from Ontario, Canada, was held for arraignment on charges of fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, third degree (misdemeanor); resisting arrest (misdemeanor); reckless driving (misdemeanor); and numerous VTL violations.
