HART hosts 'Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior' seminar

Home Assistance Referral Team is hosting an education program titled “Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior” presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, Western New York Chapter. The free education program is being offered to all caregivers enrolled in HART. It is open to the public and will focus on learning how to decode behavioral messages, identify common triggers, and learn strategies to help manage some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

“HART is fortunate to continue to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association, Western New York Chapter, and offer these vital programs to our community,” said Christine S. O’Hara, executive director of HART. “Each presentation teaches us a bit more on the disease and ways to help those who are suffering to enjoy a better quality of life.”

The seminar will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the HART office, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston. The entrance is in the back parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church.
