On Oct. 3, at 6:16 p.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office communication center received multiple commercial burglary alarms from the Niagara International Sports Complex, formerly the Summit Park Mall. The alarms included several video alarms, which showed an individual in the building walking around.

Responding units located a door that had been forced open and set up a perimeter. Deputy J. Villani and New York State Trooper R. Shenefiel made entry with New York State Police K9 Arry.

K9 Arry was deployed inside the building and located the suspect in the building still in possession of the tools used to break in. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and identified as a 27-year-old Pendleton man.

He was charged with burglary in the third degree, possession of burglar's tools, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. The person was transported to the Niagara County Correctional Facility where he was held for centralized arraignment.
