The Aquarium of Niagara held its annual Sea Lion 5K on Saturday morning.
A press release stated, “We welcomed nearly 100 runners for a certified race along the beautiful Gorgeview trail. The race started and ended at the site of our forthcoming ‘Great Lakes 360’ project, which is currently under construction and expected to open next summer. Top runners were recognized in various categories, and everyone enjoyed an after-party, which included snacks, live music, and awards. Participants were then invited to visit the Aquarium.”
The Sea Lion 5K is a fundraiser and money raised helps offset the many costs associated with caring for aquatic animals, which include complex diets, regular veterinary care, vitamins and medications, and life support for complex marine and freshwater habitats.
