Community Missions of Niagara Frontier held an open house on Wednesday, inviting guests to check out a brand-new, two-sided sign (static and digital); a fully repaved parking lot; and new concrete and outdoor chairs next to the updated front porch. Aesthetics aside, the main entrance now boasts enhanced security and safety measures.

The sign, which replaces a longstanding roof marker, was funded by the Niagara County façade grant program, with the assistance of Legislator Chris Voccio.

Parking area improvements totaling $300,000 came courtesy of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Emergency Shelter Grant program, in coordination with pandemic resources and support from the City of Niagara Falls.

Also at the open house, staff shared information on new programs and job opportunities.

Since its founding in 1925, Community Missions has provided a unique blend of referral, crisis, community support and residential services for youth and adults. Last year, Community Missions provided over 200,000 meals and more than 13,000 nights of care to neglected or abused children and homeless adults. Additional agency programs serve adults and youth with psychiatric disabilities, parolees, at-risk youth and other underserved populations in both residential and recovery-oriented settings.

Community Missions is located at 1570 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. For more information, call 716-285-3403 or visit www.communitymissions.org.
