Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced the appointment of Dr. Shaan E. Alam, M.D., to its surgical team, starting Nov. 1.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Alam specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Before joining NFMMC, Alam worked as a surgeon physician at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida; and held positions at Advent Health Lake Wales and HCA West Marion Hospital.
Alam earned his medical degree from Delhi University College of Medical Sciences. He completed his surgical residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn; and the Brooklyn Hospital Center, and San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, California. Furthering his training, Alam served as a senior resident officer at the Balaji Action Medical Center Institute in New Delhi, India, and as a senior house officer at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, U.K.
