The St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute's sailing team raced to a second-place finish at the New York State High School Championship races, hosted by the Chautauqua Lake Community Sailing Foundation at the Chautauqua Lake Sailing Club, on May 21.

The team is coached by Paul Grenauer.

The St. Joe's sailing team also recently qualified for and participated in the MASSA Silver Fleet Championship races held in Maryland on May 14, on the St. Mary's River in Chesapeake Bay. St. Joe's qualified for the fall keelboat competition but, due to a hurricane, the East Coast keelboat regatta in Annapolis was canceled.

The 2022-23 St. Joe's sailing team members are Tomas Ferguson, Josh Elliott, Ben Mazurkiewicz, Landon Bova, William Wadhams, Luke Hales, Matthew Hudi and Daniel Piazza.

Buffalo Yacht Club hosts and coordinates the high school sailing teams from all public and parochial high schools – a program that is open to all.
