After a few years of limited camp offerings, the Buffalo Zoo is once again excited to offer week-long, full-day, summer camp this year.

Guided by the zoo’s educational staff, zoo camp has, over the years, offered thousands of Western New York children the opportunity to experience the venue in a fun and educational way.

A press release stated, “The largest education program offered by the Buffalo Zoo, zoo camp provides unique animal experiences that foster a love for animals with the additional goal of instilling a sense of wildlife conservation awareness at the same time.”

“We are so happy to once again be bringing back summer camp to full operating capacity this year,” said Lisa Smith, the zoo’s interim president and CEO. “Zoo camp is such a great way for young children to have fun exploring the zoo while learning about nature and conservation.”

Each day of zoo camp includes themed workshops, arts and crafts, guided tours to exhibits specific to the week’s theme, live animal presentations, and group games and activities.

Summer camp runs from July 10 through Aug. 18. For more information, call 716-995-6127 or visit www.buffalozoo.org.

The Buffalo Zoo is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. Grounds remain open for one hour after admission gates close.
