At 7:13 p.m. Sunday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office communications center received a 911 call reporting a residential structure fire on Youngstown Wilson Road in the Town of Porter. Deputies responded and confirmed a fully involved structure fire.
The residents were not home at the time of the fire, which was subsequently extinguished by members of the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. No injuries were reported. Three dogs and one cat are believed to have perished in the fire. The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents of the house, which is believed to be a total loss.
The Niagara County Origin and Cause Team is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
