Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Chief of Infectious Disease Rajinder Bajwa, M.D., received the distinguished Golden Apple award Thursday evening from the Niagara Falls Board of Education.
Niagara Falls Superintendent Mark Laurrie presented the award to Bajwa, along with a heartfelt message of gratitude to NFMMC President and CEO Joseph Ruffolo, and the entire medical center team for its 24/7 support to Niagara Falls schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emphasizing the support provided by Bajwa, Laurrie said the doctor has been available whenever and wherever needed from day one, and was a major reason the district fared so well throughout the pandemic.
The Golden Apple award is the Niagara Falls Board of Education’s highest recognition to an individual or company that has made a significant impact on the community.
When accepting the award, Bajwa talked of the excellence of Memorial and the honor of being a member of Ruffolo’s team.
In addition to his family, NFMMC co-workers, administration and board members were in attendance to congratulate Bajwa.
