Mayor Byron W. Brown on Thursday announced his continued support for Earth Day. Every year, Buffalo celebrates Earth Month with various events around the city.
“As we mark the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, I urge all Buffalo residents to do their part to reduce their carbon footprint by taking part in the many programs offered by the city,” Brown said. “From curbside recycling and yard waste collection, to food scrap, tire and e-waste drop-offs, there are many simple ways to make a big difference.”
“Buffalo continues to be a leader in recycling outreach and programming,” said Susan Attridge, director of refuse and recycling. “I am grateful for the support of Buffalo residents.”

The City of Buffalo annually designates April as Earth Month. This year, Earth Month events have included free document shredding, clothing and textiles recycling donation drive, and used tire and e-waste drop-off day.
