Tuesday, Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons quarterback and senior Jordan Parks announced on Twitter that he committed to Mansfield University in Pennsylvania to continue his football and academic career.
In a note, he said, “First of all, I would like to thank everyone who made me the young man and person I am today. Also, my family for supporting me no matter what I did, good or bad. They will always be by my side no matter what and I can’t thank them enough.
“Second of all, I would like to thank Niagara-Wheatfield, all my friends, family and brother I have here. I can’t be more thankful for you guys. To my parents, I can’t thank you enough for everything you guys have done for me. You guys are my biggest supporters and I wouldn’t trade you guys for anyone else.
“As my high school career came to an end, I started to realize that life is more than just football and I need to plan my future for more than just football. So, I’ve decided to further my education and athletic career at Mansfield University.”
Parks, a Class A1 First Team offensive all-star and All-Western New York honorable mention, rushed for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns. Parks also threw for 427 yards and three touchdowns. Parks longest run of the year was a 95-yard touchdown versus Frontier.
Parks added that Mansfield, upon his visit, felt like home.
“It’s a small campus where everyone knows each other. Also, the football aspect was great and the program has made me feel like I can really be a big part of the team,” Parks said.
