On Monday, Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello joined the NOAH Clergy Caucus and local faith leaders for breakfast and to discuss last week's "Raise the Age" legislation, which passed the Assembly by an 86-48 vote. At the event, various ideas and suggestions were presented on how the state's criminal justice system could be reformed.
"I want to thank the NOAH Clergy Caucus and the other local leaders for inviting me to join them in this very important discussion," Morinello said. "As a Niagara Falls City Court judge for 14 years, I am very well versed in the issues our criminal justice system is facing. In the end, it is about helping to get our children on the right track and ensure they become productive members of society. The individuals I met with share the same goal as I do. However, the ways in which we wish to accomplish that goal are different. It is important to have these types of meetings, so we are able to communicate our ideas to each other and recognize we are working toward the same end result."
