WGRZ's Heather Prusak starter for 38th annual Niagara County Peach Festival 5K Run

WGRZ-TV Channel 2 sports reporter and anchor Heather Prusak will be the official starter for the 38th annual Niagara County Peach festival 5K Run on Saturday, Sept. 10, on Center Street in Lewiston. The race begins at 9 a.m. in front of the Frontier House. The course is flat and fast and will feature Jaguar RFID chip timing by Race Management Solutions Inc.

Prusak joined WGRZ in July 2014 after graduating from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism. Prusak is a native of Hamburg.

Race day registration starts at 7:45 a.m. at KeyBank on Center Street. T-shirts will go to the first 200 entrants. Post-race refreshments and awards will follow on the KeyBank grounds. Interested runners can visit www.racemanagementsolutions.com for more information.

Proceeds from the 2016 Niagara County Peach Festival 5K Run will go to Carolyn's House, Niagara Falls and the Kiwanis Key Leader program. The race is sponsored by DiMino's Tops Lewiston, Niagara's Choice Federal Credit Union and the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston.
