"Relentless focus" and "believing in yourself" were the themes of the message given by Niagara County Community College keynote speaker and alumna Ellen Latham at the 52nd annual Commencement Ceremony on Saturday at the Seneca Niagara Events Center.

Latham, a Niagara Falls native, is co-founder of the Orangetheory Fitness franchise, which INC magazine lists as one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S., with 400 studios open and 500 on track to open in the next 18 months.

Four hundred and three graduates walked the stage and received diplomas from NCCC President Dr. James P. Klyczek and board trustees Gina I. Virtuoso and Bonnie R. Sloma. The master of ceremonies was James W. Ward, board chairperson. Participants in the program included trustees Henry F. Wojtaszek, Bradley W. Rowles, Jason Cafarella, Vincent R. Ginestre, William L. Ross, Sheila Smith and Christian Clowes (student).

NCCC is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system and the largest public university system in the country. The college provides more than 70 certificate and degree programs to more than 7,000 students.

NCCC is funded by the Niagara County Legislature, SUNY and student tuition.
