United Materials unveiled the first all-pink ready mix concrete truck in Western New York at its corporate headquarters, 3949 Forest Parkway, Suite 400, Wheatfield, the morning of Sept. 4.

The pink mixer truck honors all survivors of breast cancer throughout the Niagara Region.

The mixer truck is painted pink and is representative of the company's efforts to bring awareness and help find a cure for breast cancer. The truck has the traditional ribbon associated with breast cancer along with the United Materials slogan for this particular truck, "Our commitment to the cure is concrete" painted on it.

"Over the years there has been an effort to bring awareness of all cancers especially in the Niagara Region, and we at United Materials would like to show our support for the survivors and for those individuals and families that are dealing with this disease," said United Materials President and CEO Peter Romano Jr. "With this pink mixer, we are hoping to keep breast cancer awareness in the forefront and to contribute to the very important cancer research that is being done in our region. It is our goal each year to donate a portion of the proceeds that is generated when we manufacture and supply concrete through this very special mixer. Our company and its over 100 employees throughout Western New York believe in the cause and want to give back to the very community that we work and live in."
