Thousands of fans expected to return to see game on two big screens Tuesday

Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. and its partner, Global Spectrum, today announced the USA vs. Belgium World Cup soccer match will be shown live on two large screens set up for fans at Canalside on Tuesday at 3 p.m. (rain or shine.)

The enthusiastic response of 8,000 fans for the past two games, shown live at Canalside, inspired organizers to keep a good thing going. The game starts at 4 p.m., but patrons will want to get to Canalside by 3 p.m. to take advantage of the food offerings from Clinton's Dish and the food trucks.

"Canalside has seen two big wins with our World Cup viewing parties, "said ECHDC Chairman Robert Gioia. "More than 8,000 fans have found their way to the waterfront to cheer on the U.S. team. Now we want to see our red, white and blue-wearing fans come out in droves on Tuesday to hopefully witness a win against Belgium."
