The Niagara Catholic Jr./Sr. High School community recently celebrated "Green Day" on the school's campus, 520 66th St., Niagara Falls. The event was the brainchild of student and event coordinator Jeana Franjoine, who will be a senior at NC in September.

The celebration stemmed from the newly created school club "The Green Team." The club, moderated by science teachers Katie Swanson and Jason Dormann, and Class of 2009 alum Josh Puzan, was created to promote environmental consciousness on the school campus.

A student-centered event, "Green Day" was an opportunity for club members to promote membership in "The Green Team," improve environmental awareness, raise money for upcoming environmentally friendly campus projects, and create some fun memories.

Niagara Catholic faculty, staff, and students donned their "Green Day" T-shirts, designed by "The Green Team," and enjoyed the day-long event, which included field day competitions, a bounce-house obstacle course, a dunk tank, a paint war, a mud pit, tug-o-war games, a "selfie" photo station, and a bonfire.
