Roxanne Cardone, office coordinator for the Center for Events & Management Development at Niagara University, was named NU's Outstanding Employee of the Quarter. Cardone, a Lewiston resident, was presented with the award by the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., Niagara president (as pictured).

Cardone joined Niagara University as a temporary employee in the Institutional Advancement Office, and then became a full-time employee in February 2012. When the Center for Events & Management Development was formed in 2013, Cardone transitioned seamlessly into her new role.

A quote from one of Cardone's supervisors stated, "As we have completed the first year of our new responsibilities for the university, Roxanne has played a key role in our success. She not only brings a smile to work every day, she also keeps me grounded and up-to-date on all the events we are planning. She is truly a blessing to have in our office. Thank you, Roxanne!"

In describing Cardone's work and commitment to Niagara University and its mission, another supervisor said, "Roxanne demonstrates Vincentian values by helping everyone on campus in their time of need to help plan and organize their events ... and she always does it with a smile."

Cardone has recently received "Purple Pats" that describe her ongoing commitment to the university community and anyone who attends a campus event. One commented that she even drove two students to an event, stating, "You did a great job in making everyone feel welcome and a special part of the evening."

Another commendation spoke of her attention to detail, which is so important in event planning. "Roxanne has done an awesome job managing the chaos of registration for multiple events, all of which need special attention."

Nominations for the Outstanding Employee Award are made by NU employees, students, alumni, parents, or other persons who come in contact with NU employees. Honorees are eligible to receive gift certificates to area amenities, movie passes, two days off during the next quarter, NU athletics tickets and a universal parking tag that can be used in any non-handicapped parking spot on campus.
