Wheatfield Republicans hold picnic

The Town of Wheatfield Republican Club will hold its 43rd annual family picnic from 1: 30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Wheatfield Lions Club picnic pavilion on Ward Road next to the Wheatfield American Legion.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, and steamed corn on the cob will be served during the afternoon. Roast beef, salads and desserts will be served at 5 p.m.

Euchre and ladder golf tournaments along with other adult and children's games will be conducted during the afternoon.

The picnic is open to the public. Tickets are $15 for adults. Children under 16 accompanied by parents are free. Tickets may be purchased from committee members or at the admissions table at the picnic.

Congressman Chris Collins, Niagara County Clerk Wayne Jagow, State Sen. George Maziarz, Assemblyman John Ceretto and Aaron DeLabio, Wheatfield town justice, will be invited.

The picnic committee includes Randy Retzlaff, picnic chairman; Larry Helwig, beverage chairman; Gil Doucet, corn chairman; Bob Cliffe, hot dog and hamburger chairman; Jim Heuer, roast beef chairman; Art Kroening, euchre chairman; Kathryn Lance, games chairman; Art Gerbec, picnic and club treasurer; Bill Besecker, ticket chairman; Kathy Harrington, salad chairman; and Nancy Rosie, door prize chairman.
