Town of Niagara Police Blotter for May 17, 2012

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between April 22 and May 2.

Sunday, April 22

•2300 block of Tuscarora Road and 3100 block of Woodland Avenue, vandalism. Complainants reported overnight car break-ins in two separate incidents.

•600 block of B Street, fire. Patrol reported to a dryer fire; fully involved inside the residence on arrival. Niagara Active Hose, Frontier and Upper Mountain volunteer fire companies and Rural/Metro ambulance also responded.

•4700 block of Military Road, harassment. A 51-year-old man and his 23-year-old son were arrested after an apparent road rage incident that led to a fight outside a business.

Monday, April 23

•8000 block of Crestview Drive, aid assist. Officer assisted on a warrant execution for Hamburg Police.

•2500 block of Military Road, larceny. Patrol responded for a 15-year-old female in custody for shoplifting. The girl's 44-year-old mother was arrested for attempted petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.

Tuesday, April 24

•2900 block of Military Road, vandalism. Patrol received a report of a meter stripped of its copper lines at a business.

Wednesday, April 25

•Packard Road, driving while intoxicated. A 19-year-old Niagara Falls female was arrested for DWI when patrol stopped a vehicle traveling on the shoulder of the road with a flat tire.

•3200 block of Lockport Road, vandalism. An employee at a business reported someone re arranged the letters on the business' sign.

•8000 block of Third Avenue, fraud. A resident reported receiving a call asking for bail money for her grandson. She called her grandson and he was not in jail.

Thursday, April 26

•2500 block of Military Road, larceny. Business reported two males shoplifted about 15 units of razor blades valued at $275.

•Lockport and Military roads, drug arrest. A 17-year-old Rhode Island Avenue male was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after patrol stopped to check a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot.

Friday, April 27

•2900 block of Birch Avenue, accident. Driver was backing up in a driveway, lost control and struck the side of the residence.

•500 block of D Street, mental health. Patrol checked on a highly intoxicated female who was upset with ongoing family problems and had thoughts of harming herself. Rural/Metro transported her to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for evaluation.

•200 block of Juanita Drive, animal problem. Complainant reported a dog barking for several hours.

Saturday, April 28

•Sweet Home and Military roads, assist citizen. Patrol noticed a male staggering in the roadway. Male said he was walking home because he was too drunk to drive. Patrol gave him a courtesy ride to Rhode Island Avenue.

•7300 block of Porter Road, reckless driving. Complainant reported a pickup truck doing doughnuts on the baseball diamond at Young Street. Nothing found.

Sunday, April 29

•10,000 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Patrol located a Chevrolet Volt, locked, but running in a business lot.

•Paul Drive, ATV problem. Complainant reported a teenager riding an ATV without a helmet.

•4700 block of Creekside Parkway, larceny. Complainant reported someone took her purse from her vehicle either while her vehicle was parked at work or at home.

Monday, April 30

•Military Road, larceny. Complainant at a business reported someone took metal building supplies, still wrapped in plastic, that had been stored behind a business.

•10,000 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard, larceny. Complainant reported someone in a dark SUV stole tires and rims from a Corvette parked in the lot.

•1900 block of Military Road, larceny. Three juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 15, were arrested for shoplifting sneakers at a business.

Tuesday, May 1

•6100 block of Grauer Road, domestic. A resident complained that his mother took away his laptop and cell phone. Mother said they were taken away because of behavior issues.

•4700 block of Tuscarora Road, domestic. Woman reported her 14-year-old son physically assaulted her and smashed out a window of the residence because she wouldn't let him have his friends inside the house. He was charged with third degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief.

•Seneca Parkway at dead end, check situation. Patrol responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint and found two occupants "just talking." An 18-year-old male was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Wednesday, May 2

•1900 block of Military Road, larceny. Business requested frequent patrols due to recent thefts of marble chips and wood.

•1900 block of Military Road, drug charge. An 18-year-old McKenna Avenue male was arrested for criminal possession of marijuana fifth degree.

•2000 block of Military Road, larceny. An 18-year-old Buffalo male was arrested for shoplifting after taking and concealing 11 shirts, valued at $88.89 at a business.
