Lewiston-Porter Air Force Junior ROTC will host its third annual Cadets vs. Faculty basketball game on Friday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The money raised by the cadets during the game will be used for an April field trip to Fort Drum. The Lewiston-Porter Players in Progress will perform and the cadets will hold a basket raffle and sell concessions during the game.

According to Col. Lance Dickinson, USAF (retired), who serves as senior aerospace science instructor, Lew-Port's Air Force JROTC is a high school elective program that promotes citizenship, self-discipline, life skills and community and school service.

During the school year the cadets collected poppy donations for the Youngstown Veterans of Foreign Wars, supported the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, volunteered at the Community Missions Soup Kitchen and has a team supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. JROTC also conducts recycling for the high school and its Color Guard performs at many local events.

The March 7 basketball game is open to the public and admission is free. For further information, call 286-7238.
