Town of Niagara Police Blotter for Jan. 26, 2012

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police Department between Jan. 5 and 11.

Thursday, Jan. 5

•7800 block of East Britton Drive, attempt to locate. Patrol responded at the request of Crisis Services to check on a man who said he was going to end his life.

•1900 block of Military Road, robbery. Complainant said she was approached by a male in the front parking lot who attempted to tear away a bag she carried containing a new dress. The victim fought for possession with the male, who fled toward Military Road.

Friday, Jan. 6

•Licata Drive, 911 call. Patrol investigated a report of an elderly female walking around the park who was wearing pajamas and screaming.

•Niagara Falls Boulevard and Sy Road, aid assist. Patrol responded to a report of a fight, and checked the area with negative results.

Saturday, Jan. 7

•2500 block of Military Road, suspicious person. Patrol investigated a call from an off duty officer that there was a black vehicle in a business parking lot with two people sleeping inside. The two were advised to leave the area.

•Niagara Falls Boulevard, Anthony Drive, Lockport Road, Military Road, Fashion Outlet Boulevard, Packard Road, Porter Road, traffic tickets. Patrol issued 15 traffic tickets for various offenses.

•7600 block of Beechwood Circle, drug/alcohol arrest. Patrol arrested a 41-year-old woman and seized a baggie of suspected marijuana after responding to a report that a woman was feeling ill and having a panic attack after smoking marijuana with her 19-year-old daughter.

•3000 block of Pretoria Street, harassment. Patrol arrested a 25-year-old Petroleum Avenue woman after a complainant reported the woman had come into her home, threatened her, spit in her face and threw her to the ground. Suspect said she was mad about the complainant threatening her little cousin.

Sunday, Jan. 8

•3300 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, aid assist. Patrol assisted Niagara County Sheriff's Office with a male having suicidal thoughts. Male was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

•4700 block of Chester Avenue, civil matter. Complainant called about ongoing dispute with neighbor about their shared property line. Complainant also had an issue with a summons for building a fence without a permit. She was referred to the town's Building Department.

•6100 block of North Whitham Drive, check situation. Patrol responded to a carbon monoxide detector alarm. Fire department arrived and checked house.

Monday, Jan. 9

•1800 Military Road, larceny. Business manager reported that two employees dropped $3,799 at the bank's deposit door in December, but the money never made it into the system.

•3200 block of Bellreng Drive, civil matter. Female complainant said male changed the locks on the apartment and she could not get in to get her cats.

•Lockport, added drug charge. After transporting a Buffalo woman to Niagara County Jail, it was discovered that she had hidden two pills in her bra.

Tuesday, Jan. 10

•8500 block of Porter Road, EMS. Female having diabetic problem. She was transported by Rural Metro Ambulance to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

•4500 block of Military Road, burglary. Broken window to door and blood droplets on floor found by family member. Ongoing issue with ex-boyfriend reported.

•Bland Road, check situation. Security officer reported several complaints of a male looking in windows of cars and apartments. Suspect appeared emotionally disturbed. Neighbor reported suspect had lost mother several months ago and has been sad and she has been looking after him.

•Licata Drive check situation. Woman complained that her son is taking all of her belongings and throwing them out because she is a hoarder.

Wednesday, Jan. 11

•Whirlpool at Chasm Street, Niagara Falls, attempt to locate. Patrol assisted Niagara County Sheriff's Office in pursuit of a vehicle involved in a burglary in the town.

•Packard Road, drug charge. Patrol stopped a vehicle traveling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone and detected the odor of marijuana. Two 21-year-old Niagara Falls men were charged.

•Packard Road, Lockport Road, Witmer Road, Military Road, Porter Road, traffic tickets. Patrol issued tickets to drivers in 16 different incidents.

•Lockport Road, disabled vehicle. Patrol assisted a citizen with changing a flat tire.

•3100 block of Dell Drive, suspicious person. Caller said there was a male standing outside her residence for an hour. Patrol interviewed the man, who said he was talking on a cell phone because he could not get a good signal at his house down the street.
