Four in 15-member body are new to government
As representatives in the 15-member Niagara County Legislature were sworn in around Niagara County this past weekend, several were taking oaths for the first time as elected officials.
These newly elected lawmakers include Legislator Kathryn Lance, R-Wheatfield; Legislator Cheree Copelin, R-LaSalle; Legislator Owen Steed, D-Niagara Falls; and Legislator Jason Zona, D-Niagara Falls.
The freshman grouping comes from different walks of life. Lance and Copelin are teachers. Steed is a liaison for the Niagara Falls Police Department who has been active in his community. Zona is a Niagara Falls city employee.
