Town of Niagara Police Blotter for Sept. 15, 2011

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between Aug. 22 and 31.

Monday, Aug. 22

•4700 block of Military Road, theft of services. Clerk reported that she mistakenly put $50 on the pump after suspect only paid $20. The suspect pumped the entire amount then said she couldn't pay the extra and drove off.

•4700 block of Fox Avenue, fire. No injuries reported. Niagara Active Hose, Upper Mountain and Lewiston No. 2 volunteer fire companies responded and extinguished the fire.

•Walmore Road, aid assist. Patrol assisted Niagara County Sheriff's Office with a car/motorcycle accident.

•1400 block of Elderberry Place, burglary. Complainant said he left home for an hour and when he returned found 20 video games, valued at $1,000, and 100 movies, valued at $2,000, missing.

•3700 block of Rhode Island Avenue, neighbor problem. Complainant said neighbors put up a sign facing his yard that read, "No taping girls in pool. You're sick."

Tuesday, Aug. 23

•Factory Outlet Boulevard, aid assist. Patrol assisted NCSO with DWI arrest.

•3000 block of Birch Avenue, domestic. A woman reported that her father hit her and her child with a stick and chased them down the street.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

•600 block of B Street, larceny. Complainant wanted a report that his mountain bike, valued at $1,500 was taken from his porch. Patrol checked with a bike store and was told the bike would only be worth $500.

•8500 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard, arrest. A 19-year-old male, stopped for driving while using his cell phone, was taken into custody and his car was towed after he provided false information and became irate with patrol.

•2500 block of Military Road, larceny. Patrol made a larceny arrest of a 22-year-old employee at a business.

•Packard Road, traffic tickets. Two drivers were arrested for driving 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

•3100 block of Sadlo Drive, check situation. Patrol responded on a third-party report of a possible domestic situation. Man was alone inside the residence and appeared to be yelling at himself.

Thursday, Aug. 25

•Military Road, Lockport Road, Fourth Avenue, Tuscarora Road, Packard Road and Porter Road, traffic tickets. Patrol issued 17 traffic tickets for various infractions.

•2500 block of Military Road, larceny. Patrol arrested an 18-year-old A Street resident for petit larceny at a business after she was observed on video concealing $351 in cash from her register drawer.

•4400 block of Military Road, larceny. Two individuals reported their bicycles were stolen while parked outside a business.

Friday, Aug. 26

•4700 block of Garlow Road, domestic. Woman reported her 18-year-old granddaughter was out of control, not obeying house rules.

•1800 block of Military Road, shoplifting. Two Buffalo women were arrested after the 30-year-old was observed concealing a $149.99 pair of boots and a 28-year-old was seen taking two pairs of shoes valued at $214.98.

•1900 block of Military Road, shoplifting. A 22-year-old Linwood Avenue man was arrested after he was seen grabbing five hats at a business and running out. He told patrol he planned to sell the hats to buy pills.

Saturday, Aug. 27

•Niagara Falls Boulevard at I-190, aid assist. Patrol assisted Niagara Falls Police with a subject seizing from a cocaine overdose.

•Woodland Avenue/Laur Road, fireworks complaint. Patrol checked area. Nothing found.

•500 block of C Street, fire. Complaint received of large bonfire behind residence. Fire was extinguished when patrol arrived.

Sunday, Aug. 28

•1900 block of Military Road, check situation. Complainant said he was unable to locate his 2007 Mercedes after shopping. Patrol and security staff located vehicle.

•8500 block of Porter Road, 911 hang up check. Woman stated the television told her to call 911 and go outside.

•800 block of Sunnyside Drive, 911 call. Woman reported that "the group" was trying to kill her and make it appear to the world that she didn't exist. Rural Metro Ambulance was called to take her to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Monday, Aug. 29

•Sabre Park entrance, vehicle fire. Upon patrol's arrival, the stolen 2002 Buick was fully involved. Niagara Active Hose also responded.

•8500 block of Porter Road, drug arrest. Patrol arrested a 19-year-old Lockport Road man after a traffic stop. The man said he'd just been arrested the night before for marijuana. Patrol found a knife and three baggies of marijuana in the car. Suspect became aggressive.

•1500 block of Military Road, shoplifting. Woman left store without paying for $187 of shrimp. Food was recovered in the parking lot while suspect was attempting to put it in her car.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

•Hyde Park Boulevard, aid assist. Patrol assisted Niagara Falls Police with a foot pursuit. Suspect taken into custody at the train tracks.

•7800 block of Porter Road, check situation. Complainant said his son was screaming about needing money and wanted him to go to the bank. Patrol asked if he wanted anything done about it and was told he and his wife were just frightened by his yelling.

•8500 block of Porter Road, neighbor problem. Neighbor dispute over children's toys left in the courtyard.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

•500 block of D Street, animal complaint. Three abandoned kittens secured from under a trailer. SPCA would not respond. Complainant to take them to SPCA in morning.

•Military Road, driving while intoxicated. A 41-year-old Saunders Settlement Road man was arrested for DWI.

•4700 block of Military Road, larceny. Victim said he left a $10 roll of quarters on a table at a business while he went up to pay for a cup of coffee, and when he returned it was gone.
