Town of Niagara Police Blotter for June 30, 2011

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between June 13 and 16.

Monday, June 13

•2400 Block of Military Road, disturbance. Twenty-four Chinese visitors were stranded at a local business with no ride to leave the venue. Taxis were called and the issue was resolved without further incident.

•1650 block of Jane Drive, carbon monoxide issue. A carbon monoxide detector was activated at a residence. Patrol assisted the fire department in resolving the issue.

•190 block of Anthony Drive, juvenile problem. A complainant notified patrol that juveniles were throwing rocks in the neighborhood park. The complainant said that one rock hit his car, and although he would not press charges he wanted the juveniles to be banned from the area.

Tuesday, June 14

•Military Road, traffic collision/property damage. A northbound driver on Military Road reported striking a deer. The car sustained moderate front-end damage, the deer ran away and the driver was not injured.

•1570 block of Lockport Road, petit larceny. Patrol was called regarding a suspect who fled a store with a cart of unpaid groceries. Patrol found the suspect and arrested her for petit larceny.

•2590 block of Military Road, littering. Patrol noticed a man taking garbage from a vehicle and putting it behind a local business. The man was arrested for littering.

•740 block of A Street, animal problem. A complainant notified police that a neighbor's pit bull bit her.

Wednesday, June 15

•7430 Block of Porter Road, animal complaint. Patrol located and dispatched a possible rabid raccoon.

•2420 block of Military Road, vandalism. A business manager complained that unknown people sprayed graffiti on the west side of the building, the roof, and the front of the building causing $150 in damage. Security camera footage exists.

•1400 block of Elderberry Drive, animal complaint. A complainant told police that as he walked past a neighbor's home, a pit bull approached him and scratched his leg. The owner claimed the dog was on leash and did not scratch the neighbor.

Thursday, June 16

•2400 block of Military Road, disorderly conduct. A heated dispute occurred at a business over services between a customer and employees. Patrol told the customer to seek civil action, and the customer left without further incident.

•Tuscarora road, suspicious person. Patrol attended to a complaint of a suspicious person selling magazines door to door. Patrol located the subject and told them he must have a town permit.

•230 block of Juanita Drive, situation check.  A complainant told police a man was throwing things at his porch and yelling. The subject told patrols he was "venting his frustrations" because he was in a bad mood.
