Lewiston Police Blotter for April 30, 2011

The following activity occurred Monday, April 18, to Sunday, April 24, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. A total of 76 calls were answered by LPD during this period.

Monday, April 18

•1000 block of Swann Road, fire in the roadway. LPD K-9 unit dispatched to the vicinity of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. Two juveniles located hiding in nearby woods. Subjects returned to their parents.
•900 block of Mohawk Street, assist. Patrol on location with Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. for a female who fell. Call handled; patrol cleared.
•5400 block of George Street, suspicious males. Patrol advised of two males who knocked on complainant's window and ran. Patrol checked the area with negative results. No report wished.
•Locations on the 1100 block of Sweet Home Road and the 500 block of Mountain View Drive, separate reports of animal problems. Raccoon dispatched on first call; patrol resolved the problem on the second. Both calls cleared.
•400 block of Brookshire Road, mental health response. Patrol assisted State Police; call cleared.
•South Ninth and Center streets, DWI. Patrol reported the arrest of a 43-year-old male for felony driving while intoxicated and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Blood Alcohol Content testing performed. BAC result, .28 of 1 percent of alcohol. Driver arraigned and $1,000/$2,000 bail assigned. Vehicle towed and 12-hour hold placed. Report filed.

Tuesday, April 19

•Colonial Drive and North Kline Road, suspicious vehicle. Patrol found said vehicle was stuck in the mud, its door locked and not stolen. Complainant advised.
•LPD office, larceny. Statement taken from a 33-year-old male who reported items taken from a vehicle by an unknown suspect. Report filed.
•600 block of Tuscarora Street, criminal mischief. Female resident reported a birdbath was moved on her property; no report wished.
•900 block of Upper Mountain Road, criminal mischief. Caller reported a small scratch on a vehicle; no report wished.
•500 block of Irving Drive, assist call and assist/follow-up. Caller advised to contact an attorney regarding two dogs.

Wednesday, April 20

•1900 block of Saunders Settlement Road, aggravated harassment. Statement taken from a 19-year-old male regarding a male suspect. Patrol unable to contact suspect; investigation continuing.
•500 block of Tuscarora Street, open car door. Patrol found a door open on vehicle; owner advised and nothing missing.
•Mount Hope Road; stolen vehicle. Patrol assisted Niagara County Sheriff's Office on said call.
•700 block of Lake Road, alarm response. Call handled by State Police.
•Walmore and Saunders Settlement roads, two-vehicle accident. Third party call; neither vehicle wished to report.
•Garlow Road, DWI. Patrol reported the arrest of a 20-year-old male for driving while intoxicated. Blood Alcohol Content testing refused. Vehicle towed; no further details.
•4500 block of Lower River Road, car-dog accident. Statement taken from the driver; SPCA notified and animal taken for treatment.

Thursday, April 21

•100 block of Jackson Street, assist. Patrol on location with NCSO for a 36-year-old female who fell down the stairs.
•800 block of Center Street, assist. Patrol summoned a taxi to a gas/convenience store for two intoxicated females.
•1300 block of Ridge Road, Lewiston Town Court, warrant execution. Patrol reported a 47-year-old male turned himself into court. Bail assigned at $500 with return date set. Patrol reported Lewiston Town Court had revoked a warrant for a female listed as the suspect's wife with return date set.
•4200 block of Dickersonville Road, check welfare call by adult protective services. All OK.
•2900 block of Upper Mountain Road, vagrant. Patrol advised of a white mail, age 50, wearing a purple coat, who was reportedly living under a bridge. Subject gone on patrol's arrival.
•800 block of Ridge Road, two-car accident. Statements taken from the drivers; vehicle No. 1 towed.
•Page Avenue, juvenile problem. Patrol located several youths running through yards. Subjects reported as involved in underage drinking found on the 800 block of Oneida Street. An 18-year-old male was charged and issued appearance tickets. Parents contacted to pick up youths; a female juvenile was returned to a Liberty Circle address. Report filed.
•Unspecified location, assist. LPD K-9 unit assisted State Police on a vehicle/traffic stop. Plate number logged; no other details.

Friday, April 22

•4800 block of Oakridge Lane, AED/EMS call. Patrol on location with Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. EMS for a 75-year-old female. Patrol cleared.
•4800 block of Oakridge Lane, criminal mischief/harassment complaint. Statement taken from a 28-year-old male who reported his vehicle was egged overnight. Report filed.
•900 block of Center Street, hit-run accident. Statement taken from driver No. 2; the other vehicle left the scene. Report filed.
•900 block of Center Street, two-vehicle accident. Statements taken from the drivers. No visible signs of damage.
•500 block of Susies Lane, domestic. Statement taken from a 24-year-old female regarding a 41-year-old male. Domestic Incident Report and patrol's report both filed.
•400 block of Lynbrook Drive, Youngstown, shots fired in woods. Negative results on patrol's search.
•Garlow and Saunders Settlement roads, suspicious vehicle, possible drug activity. Vehicle gone on patrol's arrival.
•Saunders Settlement Road, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported a female (no age listed) was cited for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and related charges. Uniform traffic tickets issued with return date for Lewiston Town Court. Vehicle towed; report filed.
•100 block of South Water Street, fight at a private club. Patrol listed a 40-year-old female as a victim and a 27-year-old female as involved. No charges at this time.

Saturday, April 23

•600 block of Upper Mountain Road, larceny from a vehicle. Statement taken from a 22-year-old male who reports an iPod, sunglasses and a Kodak digital camera were taken from a vehicle. Report filed.
•3500 block of Lutts Road, assist. LPD on location with State Police on a custody dispute. All OK.
•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, counterfeit currency at a gas/convenience business. A female told patrol she received the questionable currency at a bar in Amherst. Investigation to continue; report filed.
•Upper Mountain between Garlow and Indian Hill roads, two-vehicle accident, fatal. Patrol reported a motorcycle heading westbound on Upper Mountain Road struck a pickup truck, resulting in fatal injuries to a 51-year-old female listed a passenger of the motorcycle. A 43-year-old male listed as the driver of the motorcycle was arrested and charged with second degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, operating out of class, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and other vehicle and traffic offenses. The driver was arraigned at Lewiston Town Court, bail of $25,000/$50,000 assigned and driver was remanded to the Niagara County Jail. No charges were lodged against the 34-year-old male driver of the pickup who was not injured. Report filed.

Sunday, April 24

•700 block of Center Street, fight at a drug store business. Parties gone on patrol's arrival.
•700 block of Cayuga Street, fight at a bar/restaurant involving four to five females. Patrol listed two 21-year-old females as involved. Subjects taken to Niagara County Community College where a party picked them up. State Police and NCSO also on location.
•Lower River and Chicora roads, check welfare. Patrol located a 21-year-old female who was involved in the above fight at the Cayuga Street bar/restaurant and escorted her to a East Avenue address in Youngstown.
•Address unspecified, follow-up assault complaint to the above fight at the Cayuga Street bar/restaurant. Complainant did not speak to patrol at this time. Investigation to continue.
•100 block of Water Street, violation of a court order. Patrol listed a 39-year-old male as suspect and a 35-yer-old female as a victim. Suspect gone on patrol's arrival.
•2700 block of Upper Mountain Road, trespasser. Patrol reported a tree was taken from a yard and listed a 39-year-old female as a suspect and a 41-year-old male as a victim.
