Town of Niagara Police Blotter for Nov. 11

The following is a sampling of the calls the Town of Niagara Police responded to between Oct. 25 and 31. During that time period, 97 calls were received.

Monday, Oct. 25

  • 6600 block of Grauer Road, suspicious persons. Report of a suspicious person in the area. Patrols unable to locate.
  • 1700 block of Military Road, false alarm at a business. All doors were secure. No key holder responded. Patrol cleared.
  • 4200 block of Military Road, larceny. Patrol received a report that a 23-year-old Niagara Falls woman from Saunders Settlement Road allegedly shoplifted an unknown amount of groceries from her place of work.
  • 3000 block of Military Road, traffic ticket. Patrol observed a driver make an abrupt movement from the driving lane to the passing lane, then across Military Road without signaling

Tuesday, Oct. 26

  • 700 block of A Street, property dispute. The Playstation 3 was returned and all parties were satisfied. Patrol cleared.
  • 1500 block of Factory Outlet Boulevard, larceny of a bicycle. An unknown suspect apparently cut the chain that was securing the bike at the front of the building near the cafeteria.
  • 6900 block of Williams Road, aid-assist. Patrol received a call of a strong-armed robbery that just occurred at a mall business. A 16-year-old Niagara Falls suspect was said to have beat up the security guard in the parking lot and stole numerous items from the store. Officers took the subjects down at gunpoint and identified the subject, who was then turned over to Niagara County Sheriff's Department.

Wednesday, Oct. 27

  • 3000 block of Military Road, larceny. A 25-year-old Lewiston man and a 20-year-old Lockport man were arrested. Due to heavy burglary activity in the Military Road area in recent weeks, patrol followed a suspicious vehicle. The registration came back on a Lockport man with previous arrests for burglary. After a traffic stop, during which the man changed his story several times, patrol went back to a business from which the vehicle had come and found a large pile of copper piled next to a garage door. Patrol heard a crashing noise and a foot chase after the second suspect ensued. The suspect was caught with the assistance of a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy.
  • 2400 block of Military Road, harassment. Patrol responded to a business for a report of threats. An employee stated that the customer service center received a call threatening the store and staff due to a customer's billing problem.
  • 2500 block of Military Road, larceny. A 16-year-old Buffalo female, 20-year-old Ransomville female, and three females of ages 22, 44, and 18 from Niagara Falls were arrested for shoplifting at a business. Officers recovered $394.70 worth of miscellaneous merchandise.

Thursday, Oct. 28

  • 6400 block of Elsa Place, 911 call. Patrol responded to a residence for an open 911 call. Patrol spoke with resident who advised it was a child playing with the phone.
  • 7300 block of Sunnydale Road, vandalism. The victim reported that she and her husband were engaged in a verbal argument at their residence at which time he destroyed her prescription medicine by adding water to them, and that her attorney advised placing charges against him. When patrol spoke with the victim, she said she no longer wished to pursue charges and that she just wants to move on with her life.

Friday, Oct. 29

  • Tindal/Steele Circle, check situation. Report of a young female wearing a tie-dye shirt lying on the side of the road crying. A female was upset due to a recent fight with a friend. Patrol escorted her back home and made contact with her father to advise him of the situation.
  • 1900 block of Military Road, aid-check situation. Report of a female yelling and striking a small child. Patrol checked the parking lot with negative results.
  • 2400 block of Military Road, criminal warrant. After a traffic stop on a vehicle that ran a red light at Military Road and Factory Outlet Boulevard, patrol found a passenger had an outstanding warrant out of Amherst. Patrols tackled a 23-year-old Niagara Falls man who struggled with officers while being placed into custody. The man was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle in his left front coat pocket, which he stated he uses for his heroin addiction. He was transported to the Niagara County Jail.

Saturday Oct. 30

  • 6900 block of Joann Circle South, loud party/underage drinking. Patrol responded to a complaint and found 30 to 40 juveniles inside the home and numerous empty beer cans. Patrol ordered every person under the age of 18 have a parent pick them up, unless they drove home with a sober driver. Anyone who wanted to drive first had to submit to a Breathalyzer test. Patrol indicated that no persons inside the home appeared to be highly intoxicated except the adults.
  • Fashion Outlet Boulevard, arrest. Patrol, while working at a seatbelt checkpoint, arrested a 46-year-old Niagara Falls man for driving while intoxicated.
  • 6300 block of Lawson Drive, prowler. A resident reported finding footprints made from concrete dust that appeared to be from cowboy boots in his driveway. He was having concrete work done at the rear of his garage and concerned someone might be prowling his property overnight.
  • 4200 block of Isherwood Drive, burglary. A complainant reported someone broke into his aunt's residence and stripped copper piping from the walls and broke several pieces of furniture.

Sunday, Oct. 31

  • 3900 block of Lockport Road, larceny. A woman reported that while she was outside a business watching a couple having a domestic fight someone stole her cell phone from the bar.
  • 2900 block of Lockport Road, juvenile problem. Daughter did not want to come inside for the night. Patrols advised and she complied.
