Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case found 31-year-old Jasmine M. Craig of Buffalo guilty of one count of murder in the second degree (class “A-I” felony). Judge Case rendered his decision this morning following a four-day, non-jury trial that occurred last week, convicting the defendant of the only count in the indictment against her.
On Aug. 22, 2022, at approximately 12:35 a.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim in the head. The victim, 30-year-old Lameshea Sanders, was found lying in the street outside of her residence on Berkshire Avenue near Parkridge Avenue in the City of Buffalo. Sanders died at the scene.
Craig faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison when she is sentenced on Wednesday, March 20. She continues to be held without bail.
DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department homicide squad for its work in this investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Patrick B. Shanahan of the felony trials bureau and Assistant District Attorney Abbi L Fuhrken of the justice courts bureau.
