Niagara County Legislator Tony Nemi has been appointed to the Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Employee Relations Standing Committees by the New York State Association of Counties. NYSAC is bipartisan municipal association serving all 62 counties in New York.

“I look forward to becoming more involved in NYSAC through service on these committees where counties can discuss best practices among ourselves and advocate for needed policies changes from New York state government,” Nemi said.

Nemi said both the Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Employees Relations committees have a common theme and that is looking for ways to improve efficiency and cost control in county government while maintaining a high level of service.

“State mandates, civil service rules, employee retention – these issues impact all counties across the state and how we deliver services at a reasonable cost to taxpayers,” he said. “Through NYSAC’s leadership and a unified voice coming from all county governments, I hope we can make progress on these important issues.”
