Coppola enters State Senate race

I am pleased to announce that I will be on the Democratic ballot on Sept. 13 for the State Senate to represent the 60th District. The district includes Grand Island, Tonawanda, parts of the City of Buffalo, Hamburg, Orchard Park, Evans, Brant, and the Erie County portion of Cattaraugus.

While I was elected to serve in the Senate for a year to fill the unexpired term of Buffalo Comptroller Anthony Nanula, I represented the Delaware District for many years in the City of Buffalo. When the ill-conceived transit construction forced my Main Street restaurant out of business, I ran for the Common Council to make a difference. Most of my constituents will tell you I certainly did make a difference.

It is time to get government out of our business,  out of our religions, out of our personal lives and out of our wallets.

New Yorkers suffer the highest state and local taxes in the nation. Let's stop driving business and jobs out of the state.

I oppose the Peace Bridges land robbery to build a duty free liquor store that will unfairly compete with local mom and pop businesses.

The proposed Thruway Authority 25 percent toll increase is outrageous.

I am totally against hydrofracking in the state of New York.

I pledge to make a true difference.
