Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village hosts upcoming events

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst, hosts the following events in July:

"Ages of Iron and The Whole Hog Food Truck"

Saturday, July 21, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Discover education and demonstrations of metal working techniques used from the bronze ages to modern day. Enjoy the live craftsmanship while tasting unique menu creations from The Whole Hog Food Truck starting at 11 a.m.

This event is free with admission.

"Craft Day and Interactive Story Time"

Saturdays, July 21 and 28, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Get hands on with Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village interpreters. See cornhusk dolls, rope making, spinning, dyeing and more. Join in for an interactive storytime featuring "The Young Canaller" at 1 p.m. followed by an art class.

This event is free with admission.

"Family Picnic Day"

Sundays, July 22 and 29, 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Pack a lunch and bring your friends. The village grounds will be open. While you are there, stop at the houses, play a game of croquet or get competitive with badminton. Bring your chairs and blankets or use the shaded picnic tables under the pavilion.

This event is free with admission.

"The Living Village and The Cheesy Chick Food Truck"

Sunday, July 29, 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Interact with a 19th century village. See what it was like to live, work, play and survive in your own backyard (35 acres and 10 historic houses all from the Buffalo/Niagara region). Family Picnic Day is a special treat featuring The Cheesy Chick Food Truck.
