Event benefits Niagara County SPCA

Press release

Since the summer of 1995, Jesse Gooch, owner of Painters Plus, has hosted an annual party for family and friends. This party came to be known as "GoochFest." Gooch has donated funds raised at this event to local charities, including The Lions Club of Wheatfield and Niagara Hospice. The 2012 recipient will be the Niagara County SPCA and monies raised will go directly for essentials to help the animals (food and supplies). If enough funds are raised, proceeds will help build a much-needed walking path for dogs at the shelter.

"GoochFest" is Saturday, July 7, starting at 2 p.m. at 5 Senses Nature Park on Ward Road in Wheatfield (next to the American Legion). Admission includes beer and live music all day, a bonfire, door prizes and a 50/50 split. Pizza, pork, other foods and liquor will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $20 pre-sale and $25 at the door. The event is 21-and-over (I.D. required). Individual tickets can be purchased at the Niagara County SPCA shelter during normal business hours.

RV campers and tents are welcome to dry camp for the night. Security will be on site throughout the event.

Gooch has come a long way over the past 10-plus years, from "one brush, one ladder, and his 1979 Ford pickup." This is why he is so well-grounded and giving to others, organizers said.

"It has always been my passion to help people and to make a difference in my community," Gooch said.

If you or your company would like to purchase blocks of pre-sale tickets, or help by way of sponsorship with a monetary donation, manpower or supplies, or if you have any other questions, contact Gooch at Painters Plus at 716-583-8931 or[email protected].
