'Stripe of Hope' to raise funds for research

Laura Fantrazo, owner stylist of Cut & Clips Salon at 2028 Lockport Road, Wheatfield, believes it's time to give something back.

Cut & Clips will host "Stripe of Hope" starting in July.

"There are so many illnesses and diseases out there, and as a parent, family member or friend, we all struggle to sit back and wish we could do something to help our family member, parent or friend," she said. "The 'Stripe of Hope' gives us a chance to do something!"

For every illness or disease there is a color, she explained. For example, leukemia is orange, lung cancer is white, breast cancer is pink.

Cut & Clips will put "Stripe of Hope" ribbons, feathers, tinsel or stripes of color in customer's hair, with proceeds going to research for the disease indicated by the customer.

"I also am a cancer survivor. My choice will be a stripe of lavender in my hair; lavender is the color for all cancers," Fantrazo said.

Cut & Clips is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call 716-297-7400.
