'Party on the Portico' summer series announcement

The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society will kick off its seventh annual "Party on the Portico" summer happy hour series on Friday, June 15, at 5:30 p.m. at its museum building, located at 25 Nottingham Court at Elmwood Avenue.

At each "Party on the Portico" event, guests enjoy upbeat live music, free appetizers, a cash bar (wine/beer, $4; water/soft drinks, $1), a free 15-minute mini-tours of the History Museum, a 50/50 split drawing, and great views of Mirror Lake, Delaware Park and the Japanese Garden - all from the portico and steps of the museum.

The series, which runs through the summer for three Friday evenings, features some of Western New York's most popular musical acts.

Band lineup/ schedule:

June 15 - The Stamp Lickers (lively dance and cover favorites)

July 20 - A Potter's Field (indie, pop, rock) and Marvelous Sauce (power-pop, soul-alternative)

Aug. 17 - The Albrights (pop, rock) and The Steam Donkeys (honky tonk, Americana, "rock-a-billy")

Admission for each "Party on the Portico" event is $10 for the general public and $5 for Historical Society members. The series runs rain or shine, and is exclusively for guests ages 21 and over.
