'Lottie and Bernice' return to Ghostlight Theatre

The most popular characters in the Ghostlight Theatre's 40-year history return to the stage May 3 at 7 p.m. The world-premiere comedy and fifth in a series, "Regrets Only!" by local playwright L. Don Swartz, has two old grumpy ladies, Lottie and Bernice crashing a wedding reception and causing their usual mayhem.

The characters were introduced to local audiences in 2001 in the world-premiere of "Danse Macabre" and have been featured in three other comedies over the years: "Here We Sit," "The Lottie and Bernice Show" and "Get Off My Cabbage." The two feisty characters, played by Joann V. Mis (Lottie) and Debby Koskelak Swartz (Bernice), quickly became audience favorites, and they continue to draw more people into the theater than any other show.

"Regrets Only" continues May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. (The May 20 show at 2 p.m. is sold out.) Tickets are $14 general, and $12 for seniors, students and veterans. Tickets can be reserved online at www.starrynighttheatre.com or by calling the Ghostlight Theatre at 716-743-1614.
