Key to the Locks Award to be presented

The Erie Canal Discovery Center is proud to present the seventh annual Key to the Locks Award and Ceremony on May 5 at 11 a.m. The Key to the Locks Award will once again be awarded to a local citizen from Niagara County who best promotes and exemplifies community spirit and heritage. The nominations will come from the public.

Previous award winners include Lockport Mayor Michael Tucker, David Kinyon, Jane Whitmore, Clint Starke, Becky Burns and Joe Whalen. A selection committee has been chosen to review the nominations.

To recommend a deserving recipient, visit the History Center at 215 Niagara St., Lockport, for a nomination form, or email a nomination to [email protected]. Include the name of the person you are nominating, their address and phone number, a paragraph about why this person deserves to be chosen for the Key to the Locks Award, and your own contact information.
