Ceretto calls on Silver to appoint Kimble to Niagara Falls Water Board

Assemblyman John D. Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, today recommended Renae Kimble, a former Niagara County legislator, for a vacancy on the Niagara Falls Water Board. Kimble retired this month after several decades of public service to the City of Niagara Falls.

"Renae Kimble has been a pioneer and trailblazer in Niagara Falls," Ceretto said. "She is extraordinarily qualified for a spot on the Water Board. During her years in government, she has reviewed and negotiated contracts, managed large budgets, worked with labor unions and always maintained the unwavering confidence of her constituents. I have no doubt that she would excel at the Water Board and the organization would be lucky to have her."

Ceretto today sent a letter to Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver asking that Kimble be considered for the position. The correspondence acknowledges Kimble's strong record as a Niagara County legislator, her roles as risk manager for the City of Niagara Falls, professor, as well as other private- and public-sector endeavors.

As a member of the Niagara Falls Water Board, Kimble would work to provide safe and reliable water and wastewater management services to the community in an economical and efficient manner.

The Niagara Falls Water Board consists of five members, with the mayor of Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls City Council, the State Senate, the State Assembly and the governor's office appointing one member each.
