The Grand Island Central School District will put a capital project proposal with two propositions before the residents on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
District voters will vote in the Grand Island High School gymnasium at 1100 Ransom Road from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voter identification is required to vote.
The project's total of $51 million broken into two propositions. Proposition 1 must pass in order for Proposition 2 to take effect.
Project financing, if the propositions pass, would include state building aid at 82.6 percent. In Proposition 1, 17.4 percent of the funding would come from the district's capital reserve fund, resulting in no tax increase for district residents. Proposition 2, if passed, would result in a 2/10ths of 1 percent tax increase.

Proposition 2
High School auditorium $1,900,000
Scope of work summary: replace house and theatrical lighting and stage dimming board system, sound system, stage curtain and drapes, and flooring; install a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system; replace seating to meet standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act; add sound attenuation and paint.
Masters Field complex $2,700,000
Scope of work summary: Add a multipurpose turf field, remove the existing track and reconfigure to eight lanes; add field lighting, security fencing, a new sound system and and scoreboard.
