The Lewiston Community Lions Club and new entertainment store Family Video are getting into the holiday spirit and donating time and resources to the less fortunate.

The two groups are distributing hams to those in need as well as public service groups.

The Lions recently hosted Joanne Lorenzo, head of the Magdalene Project, who spoke on her organization's mission to help individuals whose lives have been abused by drugs, alcohol, domestic abuse or prostitution. The club is also adopting three families for the holidays.

Family Video is hosting a Toys for Tots donation drive on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17-18. Those donating at least $10 will receive a free rental. Moreover, Santa will be on site from noon until 6 p.m. both days. Family Video will accept Toys for Tots items throughout this month.

The Magdalene Project is located at St. George's Church, 1910 Falls St., Niagara Falls. Family Video is located in the Rite-Aid plaza off Center Street in the Village of Lewiston. Find the Lewiston Community Lions online at http://lewistoncommunitylionsclub-ny.org/index.html.
