In an effort to enhance Empire State Development's ability to create jobs and spur economic growth in the City of Niagara Falls and throughout Niagara County, Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, is calling for increased dialogue between state lawmakers and the public authority.

Ceretto's proposal comes in the wake of the recent announcement that Unifrax, with the help of ESD, will be moving its operations to the Town of Tonawanda in Erie County.

"While I have been in communication with Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of ESD, since the Unifrax announcement, I believe we could have found a way to keep the company in Niagara Falls and found alternative sites within the city," Ceretto said. "Economic development is too important for Niagara Falls not to involve all the region's lawmakers when determining how this economic development funding will be used."

"In today's economy, it is disheartening to see any job leave Niagara Falls, and I look forward to working closely with Empire State Development to help bring jobs and economic development to Niagara Falls," Ceretto said.
